A whole new world

There's only one thing worth shouting so much about right now. Something which I'm so proud of. The most important decision I ever made in my life.

Being born into this world was not by choice. I was welcomed into this world because my parents chose to have me. But letting myself be born again, be cleansed of my past sins and sorrows, that was MY CHOICE.

And I am proud that I decided to do it. It could easily pass as the best day of my life. The feeling was indescribable. Right before my baptism, a few people mentioned that anytime I face any difficult situations in future, all I'd have to do is think back on the moment when I submerged into the waters and when I came out a whole brand new person. And that's why I made it a point to savour the moment. That moment that was so precious to me. The most important five minutes of my life.

And true enough, it worked. It killed all my disappointment. Many things that happened today could have pushed me down into the valleys but that memory kept me going. And I'm so so happy about being born again that nothing could steal that magic away from me!

My special thanks go out to my dear friends who, despite everything, came to support me and share that precious moment with me.

Daniel, my most awesome UL leader. I tell you, he's seriously the greatest man alive (aside from God)! He's the funniest, most sincere and encouraging guy ever!

My dearest friends from UL...thank you for the beautiful flowers and books. I am so blessed to be loved by you guys!

John and Derek, two people I have the deepest amount of respect for. Their wisdom goes beyond their age and seeing them share God's word is priceless.

Ai Ling and Hao Ern, the couple who touched me so deeply for making it despite having plans of their own to celebrate their anniversary. Knowing that I delayed their dinner made me feel so guilty yet really grateful to God for putting them in my life. They're such amazing friends, ones I know who truly love me and will always be there for me whether (I quote Ailing) I'm down in the valleys or high in the mountains. Without both of them, I wouldn't be where I am today. That I say from the bottom of my heart because they are the ones who have been there since day one and are still here walking along with me on the same road to know Him better. They are people whom I love so unconditionally!

Ryan and Roy, the two people whom I haven't had the privilege to know better yet, and still made it for my special day. I never expected them to be there and yet they were. How amazing are they?

William, Aaron and CK...thank you for traveling all the way from Clayton. It meant so much to me just knowing that you guys took the trouble to come. You're real true friends! Thank you soooo much!

Amanda and Bennett, for being the quiet supportive friends and for being there supporting me all the way! I love you guys and thank you so much for the book! So sweet of you guys!

Elaine and Chor Yeow, thank you for being the "colour-matching" couple who came to show your support. It means so much to me to know that you guys were there with me every single step of the way. And thank you for coming despite having to study for the upcoming exams. I know CY would usually miss whatever for his studies and that made it extra-special that you guys were there yesterday. You're both such awesome, supportive friends. I oh-so-love you guys!

Michelle, for making time for me all day before my baptism and going through the whole process with me. You are such a wonderful friend and I'm so glad to have met you. I'm so happy that we both gave each other the chance to take the first step to being friends. How unexpected if you ask me. I wouldn't have imagined when we first met that we could get along as well as we do now! You taught me the lesson to never judge a book by its cover. I love you darling! You're one babe I promise I can't live without!

Susan, Alicia and Kathryn for being there before the baptism. You guys made my day extra special. I love you! =)

Sheng Wei, all the way from Canberra and you spent your last night with me at my baptism. Such a wonderful wonderful person you are! Thank you for coming!

And last, but most importantly, my dearest bf who has been there every step of the way, encouraging me and pushing me while I struggled with my internal conflicts. You've made me a better person and I love you for everything that you are!

I hope that I've mentioned everybody's names but if I left out anyone, thank you for being there! My life is complete now because of you guys!

Gosh, at this point I am already feeling extremely overwhelmed.

So...that's all for now, beautiful people!

Camp is this weekend everyone! Come expecting that God will perform miracles in your lives, right before your eyes. I know He did that in me and He will do it again in you!

Love love love you all! BIG KISSES!

1 - I had a long, long, praising comment, involving sage-ness and koans and enlightenment and priesthood and wonder and the windows of churches.

Then Internet Explorer jumped back a page and annihilated it. How's that for a sign? I should be more sceptical... but...

You delight my sensibilities.

There, I said it.
You have come to embody the will to power which is the will to life; it's supremely ironic that a baptism has unveiled this, but there you go.

Live in the world. (Comment this)
